Fair Trade Weeks - Toronto

Thursday, 08 May 2008
Every day should be fair trade day, but from May first to fifteenth Canada highlights the importance of fair trade throuhg tastings, films, meet-ups windpanic.jpg and lots of fun events. The wide range of events is organized by community members and small business folk who care about the way that the things we eat drink and use are made. Nova Scotia and Quebec are leading the way but there are still some events left in Toronto. Highlights below...

Toronto

Choco Sol Traders presents:

Funk'n'Chocolate features DJ Sweet Jelly Roller and chocolate treats by Chocosol.

World Playground Project has successfully raised over $8000 for our arts education projects in Toronto and Cape Town, South Africa.

All proceeds from Funk'n'Chocolate will go towards subsidizing a youth theatre program in the Cape Flat communities, Cape Town, South Africa, in July 2008. Help make arts education a possibility for youth who otherwise could not afford this unique opportunity.

If you can't make it out on Friday, May 9, you can still donate by visiting www.worldplaygroundproject.org (click on the donate page). Charitable receipts will be issued for any donation over $25.
